Intended Audience
This CPD day is open to any HCPs and pre-hospital care staff qualified FREC 3 (or equivalent) and above.
Overview
On this interactive CPD day we will cover:
The assessment and treatment of catastrophic haemorrhages secondary to:
Amputations/blast injuries;
Gunshot wounds;
Knife wounds;
Junctional wounds of any cause.
The assessment and treatment blunt and penetrating injuries in the following areas:
Chest;
Abdomen;
Limbs;
Head and neck.
The assessment and treatment of persons involved in high energy RTCs;
Helicopter safety brief with live helicopter evacuation training with optional lift in the aircraft (additional fee of £70 per person applies);
This day is delivered at our 22 acre outdoor training site and will include at least 3 live scenarios including (depending on timings, we may run additional scenarios):
Scenario 1: Operating in a tactical environment - treatment of catastrophic haemorrhages and personal safety (NB: paintball package can be added for £30 per person to enable the learners to ‘shoot back ‘at their aggressors - this is 400 paintballs, a marker and all necessary PPE);
Scenario 2: Operating in and around unexploded and exploded ordinance - management of blast injuries and personal safety (NB: We are the pre-hospital training provider with permission form the PSNI to use pyrotechnics during our courses, please let us know before hand if you wish to have ear protection provided or want to be excluded from scenarios where we use flash bangs and smoke grenades).
Scenario 3: High energy RTC with helicopter evacuation and helicopter safety training - extrication of persons who are unconscious and trapped inside a vehicle wreckage using both formal and informal (improvised) means of extrication and live helicopter evacuation training with potential for each learner to go up in the helicopter also (additional fee applies).
