STAFFING REQUIREMENTS

UK HCPC Registered Paramedic;
2 full years of post-registration experience;
Currently operational responding to 999 frontline calls either on Rapid Response Vehicles, Dual Crewed Ambulances or Air Ambulance.

UK HCPC Registered Paramedic AND;
a Specialist Paramedic qualification in either Urgent Care or Critical Care;
2 full years post-registration experience;
1 full year experience as a Specialist Paramedic; Currently operational responding to 999 frontline calls either on Rapid Response Vehicles, Dual Crewed Ambulances or Air Ambulance.

Experience of at least 3 overseas deployments to remote, austere and hostile environments overseas totalling over 6 months;

Relevant qualifications equivalent to Level 6 in security, survival and/or tactical awareness;
10 + years in a relevant security industry role with evidence of a minimum of 3 years continuous deployment in remote, austere, and hostile environments;
FREC 4 - FREUC 5/AAP desirable.

We offer a variety of medical training courses, including Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, First Responder Emergency Care (FREC), and more specialised medical training courses such as Medicine in Remote Areas (MIRA). We also offer challenging environment awareness training courses such as Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) and Media operations Emergency Training (MOET).

Our specialist medical training courses are designed for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and allied health professionals. Our challenging environment training courses are suitable for healthcare professionals as well as non-medical professionals working in remote, hostile or other challenging environments (media operatives, close protection operatives etc.). We also offer basic first aid training courses and a suite of first responder courses suitable for non-medical individuals and corporate groups in Northern Ireland.

Our medical training courses and challenging environment training courses are held at our training centre in Randalstown, Northern Ireland. We also offer a global peripatetic service for on-site training for groups at your location, subject to availability.

Course details

For most of our medical training and challenging environment training courses, we provide all necessary materials, including notebooks, pens, manuals, and training equipment. Comfortable clothing is advised, especially for courses involving practical skills. If there is any additional equipment needed for a course, this information will be added to the course description, and we will send out a reminder upon receiving your booking.

Course durations vary between 1 and 48 days, depending on the course. Detailed information on course lengths is provided on our course description pages.

Yes, upon successful completion of the medical or challenging environment training course and any required assessments, you will receive a certificate accredited by the relevant awarding organisation, such as Qualsafe Awards or Iqarus.

During checkout you will be presented with an initial assessment to fill out your personal details, experiences and expectations. We will use this information to issue your certificate, make reasonable adjustments and/or advise you on the best pathway for your personal goals.

Yes, we ask for a deposit for each of our medical training courses and challenging environment training courses. The deposit amount varies per course, but is approximately 20% of the total course cost.

Our medical training courses and challenging environment training courses combine classroom sessions with high fidelity hyper-realistic practical hands-on scenarios. Participants will engage in simulations and practical exercises to apply what they have learned. Each course is designed to be interactive and engaging. Certain courses such as FREC 4, FREUC 5 and AAP have workbooks that the learners are to complete in their own time.

Yes, all medical training courses and challenging environment training courses include assessments to ensure participants understand the material and can apply their skills effectively. These may include written tests, practical exams, and/or scenario-based assessments to ensure our results are Valid, Authentic, Current, Sufficient and Reliable.

Our instructors are experienced professionals who are available to assist with any questions or concerns during the course. We aim to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all delegates. We may also provide a post-pastoral support service for graduates of certain medical training courses (FREC 3 and above) to support and advise on employment pathways.

Yes, if you do not pass the assessment on one of our medical training courses or challenging environment training courses, you will have the opportunity to retake it. We offer support and additional training if needed to help you succeed. One resit per assessment is included, any additional resits will incur a charge.

Many certifications require periodic renewal, typically every 1-3 years. We offer refresher and CPD courses at our Northern Ireland training centre to help you remain contemporary and relevant in your chosen field of practice.

Our cancellation and rescheduling policies are outlined on our website. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes to your booking. We strive to accommodate your needs while ensuring minimal disruption to our training schedule. A non-refundable deposit may apply.
