ABOUT US
OUR STORY.
K2I-EOC LTD (operating as K2 International) was formed in January 2024 by married couple Gemma and Michael Kidd, two experienced Specialist Paramedics (Primary Care) who met each other in 2013 on their BSc (Hons) Paramedic Practitioner programme. Since then, not only have they got married, but they have both deployed to numerous countries and challenging environments around the world offering paramedic-led Education, Operations and Consultancy services to clients such as BP, Shell, S3 seismic, Norwegian Peoples Aid, Save The Children, several embassies/ambassadors and many more.
Throughout 2024 we expanded our team to include a faculty of 17+ staff including every pre-hospital clinical grade from experienced Emergency Medical Technicians, to Advanced Paramedics to Consultant Anaesthetists - all with extensive experience in operating in unsupported and challenging medical environments.

Here at K2I we specialise in challenging environment medical Education, Operations and Consultancy with a particular focus on high-fidelity and hyper-realistic scenario based education and training. With access to a network of instructors and operatives from a range of personal and professional backgrounds, you can be assured that our services are being offered from a point of expertise which can only be informed with real life experience.
Therefore our faculty has jointly accumulated many decades of cumulative experience on operations in countries such as Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Ukraine, Uganda, Egypt, Libya South Africa, South Sudan, Mexico, Albania, Jordan, the Netherlands, Germany, Argentina, India and many more - a list that continues to grow with us as an organisation every week.
In addition to extensive operational overseas experience, ALL of our staff are currently operational/practising HCPs with patient facing roles ensuring they each bring a wealth of current and relevant real world experience to the classroom, on operations and to our consultancy services.

We specialise in pre-hospital emergency care, particularly unsupported care in the most remote and austere regions of the globe. For this reason we beleive we have a responsibility to protect, safeguard and restore ecosystems around the world to ensure the only challenging environments left to operate in aren’t just regions experiencing war or political unrest. As such we have implemented a few measures to ensure we are undertaking a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to our operations. From using energy suppliers who use only 100% renewable energy generation sources to planting a tree for every product and course sold via our website we at K2I are doing everything we can to reduce our impact on the planet.
As such, K2 international are also proud supports of Sprout - a tree planting service who digitally track our online sales and for every single item and course in your basket worth over £1, we will cover the cost of planting a mangrove tree off the coast of Madagascar to help restore these fragile ecosystems and protect coastal communities from the effects of climate change. This is reflected in the counter above which lets us see part of the impact we’ve had already!
In addition to this, K2 International are also proud supporters of Leave Curious, Planet Wild and Mossy Earth - three non profit organisations with projects all across the UK and the world supporting, protecting, maintaining and developing ecosystems with projects from the restoration of the Scottish Highlands Native tree population to the restoration wetlands of Iceland and coral reefs of Indonesia!

Our Team
MICHAEL KIDD, CO-DIRECTOR
Michael is a Paramedic Practitioner and has been working on NHS 999 frontline Dual Crewed Ambulances since January 2014 and Rapid Response Vehicles as a solo responder since 2017. Michael also has a clinical work portfolio which includes GP surgeries, OOH GP clinics, event work, aeromedical transport and retrieval as well as remote, austere and hostile environment experience and is a medical student at Ulster University with aspirations of becoming an Emergency Doctor. In addition to his medical credentials, Michael is also a qualified Teacher, Internal Quality Assurance Assessor and a Vocational Achievement Assessor. As such, Michael has operational and educational experience in the UK, Ireland, Albania, South Sudan, Uganda, South Africa, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Mexico, Germany, The Netherlands and the Channel Islands.
GEMMA KIDD, CO-DIRECTOR
Gemma is also a Paramedic Practitioner with experience in both NHS 999 DCAs and RRVs since 2013 as well as experience in other clinical settings such as custody suites and at events such as motocross, boxing, concerts and festivals. Gemma became a qualified trainer in 2023 and joined Michael in forming K2 International and our Randalstown Based training centre. Gemma also lived in a remote region of the French Alps for 8 years making her more than experienced enough in operating in remote austere environments.
